What does our handwashing station look like?
These are real photos of our handwashing station setups: outside, inside, and placed on site. Every unit is pumped, pressure-washed, sanitized and restocked before delivery, and event units come from a separate fleet from jobsite units, so what you see here is what arrives.

How many handwashing stations do I need?
You need 1 handwashing station for every 1–10 porta potties, 2 for 11–20, 3 for 21–30, and 4 for 31–40, then 1 more per 10 toilets. That ratio comes from PSAI. Food vendors, petting zoos, and jobsites with chemical exposure need stations close to the activity, not just at the toilets.
| Porta potties | Handwashing stations |
|---|---|
| 1–10 | 1 |
| 11–20 | 2 |
| 21–30 | 3 |
| 31–40 | 4 |
| 41+ | 4 + 1 per extra 10 |
Do jobsites need handwashing stations?
Construction jobsites need washing facilities when workers apply paint, coatings, herbicides, insecticides, or handle other harmful contaminants. That's OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51(f). Farms with 11 or more field workers need 1 toilet and 1 handwashing facility per 20 workers within a quarter-mile walk (OSHA 1928.110).
Read the official text: 29 CFR 1926.51 and 29 CFR 1928.110. Legal minimums are a floor; for food handling we recommend a station within sight of each serving line. See construction site toilets.
How is a handwashing station serviced?
A handwashing station is serviced by draining the gray-water tank, sanitizing both basins, refilling the 22-gallon fresh-water tank, and restocking soap and towels. Long-term stations are serviced weekly with the toilets. Busy food events may need a mid-event refill, since 300 washes can go fast at a seafood festival.

Questions renters ask us before booking
These questions come straight from real rental calls. Each answer starts with the short version, then the conditions that change it.
Do you rent handwashing stations?
Yes. Our dual hand-wash station has two basins, a hands-free foot pump, a 22-gallon fresh-water tank, soap, and paper towels. The manufacturer rates it at nearly 300 hand washes per fill. It's a common add-on for food events and jobsites.
How many handwashing stations do I need?
Use 1 handwashing station for every 1–10 toilets, 2 for 11–20, 3 for 21–30, and 4 for 31–40. That's the PSAI guideline. Food events and jobsites with paint, herbicide, or other contaminants need them close to the work.
Is a deluxe unit with a sink cheaper than a standard unit plus a hand-wash station?
Usually, yes. A standard unit ($249) plus a standalone hand-wash station ($199) costs more than a single deluxe unit with a built-in sink ($286). For one-unit parties, the deluxe saves about $100 and takes up less space.
How many toilets does OSHA require on a construction site?
OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 Table D-1 requires 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers. For 20 to 199 workers, it's 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers. For 200 or more, it's 1 seat and 1 urinal per 50. That's the legal minimum; we recommend 1 unit per 10 workers with weekly service.
Can I add an extra cleaning?
Yes. Extra service visits start at $85. Book them for busy jobsites, multi-day events, or summer heat. For festivals, the most requested slot is overnight between day one and day two, so the units are fresh when gates open.
What happens during a service visit?
A service visit has 5 steps: pump the waste tank, pressure-rinse and disinfect the interior, scrub the seat and urinal, add fresh deodorizer, and restock toilet paper, sanitizer, soap, and towels. The driver leaves a service log on the door so you can see the date.
