How many porta potties does my jobsite need?
A Galveston jobsite needs at least 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers under OSHA Table D-1, and 1 toilet seat plus 1 urinal per 40 workers above 20. We recommend 1 unit per 10 workers on a 40-hour week with weekly service, so a 12-person framing crew gets 2 units.
| Workers | OSHA minimum (Table D-1) | Our recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| 1–10 | 1 toilet | 1 unit, weekly service |
| 11–20 | 1 toilet | 2 units, weekly service |
| 21–40 | 1 seat + 1 urinal per 40 | 3–4 units, weekly |
| 41–80 | 2 seats + 2 urinals | 5–8 units, or fewer with twice-weekly service |
| 200+ | 1 seat + 1 urinal per 50 | Site plan — call us |
Official text: OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51. Under (c)(4), mobile crews with transportation to nearby toilets are exempt. That's a narrow exception — most roofing, framing and concrete crews still need a unit on site.
What do our construction site toilets setups look like?
These are real photos of units we set for construction site toilets jobs: how they're placed, what's inside, and how they arrive. Every unit is pumped, pressure-washed, sanitized and restocked before delivery, so the unit on your site looks like the ones here.

What does weekly jobsite service include?
Weekly jobsite service includes pumping the waste tank, pressure-rinsing and disinfecting the interior, scrubbing the seat and urinal, adding deodorizer, and restocking toilet paper and sanitizer. The driver logs the date on the door. Busy summer sites on the island can add a second weekly service from $85.
- Pump the 60-gallon tank.
- Rinse and disinfect walls, floor, seat, and urinal.
- Add fresh blue deodorizer to the tank.
- Restock toilet paper and hand sanitizer.
- Check door latch, vent, and anchoring; log the visit.
How does 28-day construction billing work?
Construction porta potties bill in 28-day cycles. The first invoice covers cycle one at $199, the delivery fee from $49, and the $34.95 fuel surcharge. Each later cycle is $199 with four weekly services. Call for pickup and billing stops at the end of that cycle; the pickup fee is from $29.
| Invoice | Line items (example: 6-week remodel, 1 unit) | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Cycle 1 $199 + delivery $49 + fuel $34.95 | $282.95 |
| Day 29 | Cycle 2 $199 | $199.00 |
| At pickup | Pickup fee $29 | $29.00 |
| Total before tax | 8 weeks of weekly service included | $510.95 |
A homeowner remodeling a bathroom asked if she needed a contractor account. She didn't — homeowners get the same 28-day jobsite rate. Another caller needed a unit for a roofing job the same day after his first supplier no-showed; same-day orders like his are quoted with the rush fee before booking.
Where should the unit go on a Galveston jobsite?
Set a jobsite porta potty on level, firm ground inside your lot line, within 10 feet of where our service truck can park, and away from dumpsters and material drops. On raised island homes, keep it out from under the house where it can't be serviced. Strap it during hurricane season.
- Keep it on private property — Galveston's right-of-way License to Use takes 5–6 weeks.
- Avoid low spots that hold water after a Gulf storm.
- Keep the door facing away from the street for privacy.
- Tell us about locked gates and gate codes so service day doesn't get skipped.
Crew starting Monday?
Order by Friday noon and the unit is on site before your crew. Same-day jobsite delivery is available on the island.

Questions renters ask us before booking
These questions come straight from real rental calls. Each answer starts with the short version, then the conditions that change it.
How many toilets does OSHA require on a construction site?
OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 Table D-1 requires 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers. For 20 to 199 workers, it's 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers. For 200 or more, it's 1 seat and 1 urinal per 50. That's the legal minimum; we recommend 1 unit per 10 workers with weekly service.
I'm remodeling my house with no water. Do I need a contractor account?
No. Homeowners book the same 28-day construction rate as contractors, with weekly service included. Bathroom remodels, foundation work, and post-storm repairs are common reasons. We place it on your property so the crew never needs your house bathroom.
If I only need it for two weeks, do I pay for a full month?
Yes, construction and remodel units bill in 28-day cycles, so a two-week job pays one cycle. One cycle at $199 is usually cheaper than two weekly rentals, because weekly rates carry more delivery cost. Call for pickup any time and billing stops at the end of that cycle.
Is "monthly" a calendar month?
No. "Monthly" means a 28-day billing cycle, not a calendar month. If your unit arrives on the 14th, the first cycle ends on day 28 and the next cycle starts the day after, unless you've called for pickup.
Do I have to commit to a long contract?
No. The minimum is one 28-day cycle. After that it renews cycle by cycle until you call for pickup. There's no long-term contract, and calling for pickup stops billing at the end of the current cycle.
Can I call for pickup when the job is done?
Yes. Most construction orders are set as "will-call" pickups. When the job wraps, call or text the date and the driver pulls the unit on the next route, usually within 1–2 business days. Billing stops at the end of that cycle.
Can my company get invoices and an account?
Yes. Business renters get emailed invoices and an online customer portal with every order in one place. Tell us your PO or job number when you book and we'll print it on each invoice, so your office can match it to the right job.
Can I move the unit myself after it's delivered?
Please don't. A full unit can tip, leak, or crack when moved with a tractor, dolly, or truck. You're responsible for damage once it's on site. If the spot doesn't work, call us and the driver can reposition it on the next service or for a small trip fee.
