Booking and delivery
Can you deliver a porta potty today?
Yes. Same-day porta potty delivery is available on Galveston Island and most of Galveston County when you call by 12 PM, Monday–Saturday, and a truck is free. Same-day orders carry a rush fee starting at $75, which we quote before you book. Call (409) 230-8588 — same-day orders are taken by phone, not the web form.
I need one tomorrow for a party. Is that too late?
Usually not. Next-day delivery is our most common rush request. Call before 5 PM and we schedule it on tomorrow's route, often at the regular rate. Holiday weekends like Labor Day, Memorial Day, and July 4th sell out first, so call the moment you know your date.
Do you deliver on weekends?
We deliver Monday through Saturday. For a Saturday or Sunday event, we normally drop the unit off Friday and pick it up Monday at no extra charge. That way your unit is in place before guests arrive and you never wait on a weekend truck.
What time will the driver show up?
Deliveries run in an 8 AM–5 PM window. You can ask for morning or afternoon, and the driver calls or texts about 30 minutes before arriving. We can't promise an exact minute, which is why event units go out the day before your event.
My event starts at 6 PM. Will it be there in time?
Yes. Drivers don't deliver after 5 PM, so evening events get their unit the day before or that morning. For a 6:30 PM event, booking a day-early drop-off removes all the timing risk at the same price.
Do I need to be home when you deliver?
No. You don't need to be home if the placement spot is clear and easy to find. Tell us the exact spot ("left of the garage, on the gravel"), any gate code, and a phone number the driver can reach. Many renters text a photo of the spot.
Can someone else be the contact for delivery?
Yes. Add a second contact — the host, the homeowner, or the site super. The driver calls that person on the way. This helps when the unit goes to a different house than the person paying, which happens often with family parties and weddings.
What do you need from me to book?
To book, we need the delivery address, delivery and pickup dates, unit type and count, where to place it, an on-site contact, and a card. Booking by phone takes about 5–6 minutes. You'll get an invoice by text and email to e-sign.
How far ahead should I book for a holiday weekend or big Galveston event?
Book 2–3 weeks ahead for Labor Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Mardi Gras, and the Lone Star Rally weekend. Those dates sell out first. In our call log, every caller who waited until the Thursday before Labor Day either paid a rush fee or got no unit.
Do you deliver to Bolivar Peninsula?
Yes. We deliver to Port Bolivar, Crystal Beach, and Gilchrist. Our trucks cross on the free TxDOT ferry, and peak waits can top 2 hours. Bolivar orders are scheduled for next-day delivery. Same-day is only possible early in the day when ferry lines are short.
Placement and site access
Where's the best place to put a porta potty?
Pick a level, firm spot within about 10 feet of where the service truck can park. Keep it 20+ feet from food, in shade if you can, and downwind of seating. On the island, avoid low spots that hold water after a storm and keep units out of dune vegetation.
Can the porta potty sit on the street in front of my house?
Plan on private property. The City of Galveston requires a "License to Use" for anything in the public right-of-way, and approval takes about 5–6 weeks. A driveway edge, side yard, or the back of your lot avoids that delay and keeps the unit off the curb.
Can you put a porta potty on the beach?
Sometimes, with permission. Beach events on Park Board beaches need a Park Board permit, and vehicles are restricted on the sand, so we usually set units at the nearest vehicle access point. East Beach has no indoor restrooms, which makes a rented unit the only option for guests.
My place has a dirt driveway or a long private drive. Can the truck get in?
Usually yes. Our service trucks handle gravel, dirt, and grass when it's dry and firm. Tell us about soft spots, ditches, or a narrow bridge. After heavy rain on the island, we may set the unit closer to the road so the truck doesn't get stuck.
What if I have low wires, a gate code, or tight access?
Tell us when you book. Low-hanging cable or power lines, gate codes, tight side yards, and parked cars all go in the driver's notes. One caller had an internet cable slung across the road — the driver called ahead and came in from the other side.
I have a dog and an electric fence. Is that a problem?
No, just secure the dog during delivery and pickup. Our drivers carry the unit past fences and gates on foot. Let us know about invisible or electric fences so the crew doesn't trip the line or set the unit inside the dog's run.
Can I move the unit myself after it's delivered?
Please don't. A full unit can tip, leak, or crack when moved with a tractor, dolly, or truck. You're responsible for damage once it's on site. If the spot doesn't work, call us and the driver can reposition it on the next service or for a small trip fee.
Pricing and billing
How much does it cost to rent a porta potty in Galveston?
A standard event porta potty starts at $249 for a weekend package, delivery and pickup included. A deluxe flushing unit with a sink starts at $286. Construction units start at $199 per 28-day cycle with weekly service. A $34.95 fuel surcharge and tax apply. Your quote lists every line.
Do you rent porta potties by the day?
No. Event units are priced per event, not per day. Keeping the unit one day or five days costs the same, because the cost is mostly delivery, cleaning, and pickup. That's why we drop off Friday and pick up Monday for weekend parties at no extra charge.
Does the price include delivery and pickup?
Yes for event and weekend packages: delivery, pickup, and a clean, stocked unit are included. Long-term construction rentals add a one-time delivery fee from $49 and a pickup fee from $29, because the 28-day rate covers weekly servicing instead of transport.
Are there any other fees?
Possible add-ons are listed on your quote before you pay: a $34.95 fuel surcharge, a 3% card processing fee, sales tax, a rush fee for same-day orders, extra service visits from $85, and a trip fee if the driver can't deliver because the site is blocked.
Why does same-day delivery cost more?
Same-day delivery costs more because a driver has to leave a planned route or work overtime to reach you. The rush fee is quoted on the phone before you book — never added later. Booking 48 hours ahead avoids it in most cases.
If I only need it for two weeks, do I pay for a full month?
Yes, construction and remodel units bill in 28-day cycles, so a two-week job pays one cycle. One cycle at $199 is usually cheaper than two weekly rentals, because weekly rates carry more delivery cost. Call for pickup any time and billing stops at the end of that cycle.
Is "monthly" a calendar month?
No. "Monthly" means a 28-day billing cycle, not a calendar month. If your unit arrives on the 14th, the first cycle ends on day 28 and the next cycle starts the day after, unless you've called for pickup.
When is my card charged, and how do refunds work?
Your card is charged when you book, and you get a paid invoice by text and email. If you cancel at least 24 hours before delivery, the charge is reversed. Most banks show the refund in 3–5 business days.
I was quoted earlier and got disconnected. Will you honor that price?
Yes. Quotes from our team are good for 7 days. Call back, give the name and address you used, and we'll pull the quote up. Because prices can shift on holiday weekends, rebook quickly if your date is close.
Do you discount multiple units, nonprofits, or churches?
Yes. Orders of 3 or more units, nonprofit festivals, churches, and schools get multi-unit pricing. Tell us when you call and we'll itemize the savings on your quote. Repeat customers keep their account and pricing in our customer portal.
Is a deluxe unit with a sink cheaper than a standard unit plus a hand-wash station?
Usually, yes. A standard unit ($249) plus a standalone hand-wash station ($199) costs more than a single deluxe unit with a built-in sink ($286). For one-unit parties, the deluxe saves about $100 and takes up less space.
Choosing a unit and how many
I don't know which unit I need. Can you help?
Yes. Tell us the event type, guest count, hours, and whether alcohol is served, and we'll recommend a count. Most backyard parties need 1–2 standard or deluxe units. Weddings over 150 guests often choose a trailer. Use our sizing calculator for a quick number.
What's the difference between a standard and a deluxe porta potty?
A standard unit is a single-user toilet with a holding tank, urinal, toilet paper, and hand sanitizer. A deluxe unit adds a foot-pump flush, a sink with fresh water, soap, and paper towels. Choose deluxe for weddings, graduations, and backyard parties where guests notice the difference.
Does the deluxe unit need plumbing or a hose?
No. The deluxe flushing unit carries its own fresh water for the flush and the sink, so nothing hooks up. It's fully stocked with soap, paper towels, and toilet paper. Our drivers plan on about 150 flushes before the next service, and the built-in urinal stretches that.
Do units come with toilet paper?
Yes. Every unit arrives pumped, sanitized, and stocked with toilet paper. Standard units have hand sanitizer. Deluxe units and hand-wash stations have soap and paper towels. Long-term units are restocked at every weekly service.
Are your event units clean, or are they beat-up construction units?
Event orders get units from our event fleet, not jobsite units. Each one is pressure-washed, sanitized, deodorized, and inspected before it leaves the yard. If a unit shows up in a condition you wouldn't use, call us and we swap it.
What's the difference between an ADA-compliant and a wheelchair-accessible porta potty?
An ADA-compliant unit is built to the 2010 ADA Standards, including a 60-inch turning space, and comes with the manufacturer's documentation for inspections. A wheelchair-accessible unit has a ground-level entry and room for a chair, but isn't sold as compliant. Accessible units start at $319; compliant units start at $401.
Do I need an ADA unit for my event?
For public events, plan on at least 5% of units in each cluster being accessible, and never fewer than one. That's how the ADA portable-unit rule is usually applied. Private parties only need one if a guest uses a wheelchair or walker. Confirm event rules with your permit office or venue.
How many people can use one porta potty?
One standard porta potty serves about 50 guests for an event up to 4 hours. PSAI rates a unit at about 200 uses between services. Add units for longer events, alcohol, or mostly female crowds, or add a mid-event service visit.
Is one porta potty enough for 30 guests?
Yes, for up to 4 hours. One standard unit covers 30 guests for a party or reunion of that length, especially when your house bathroom is open too. For an all-day or overnight event, add a second unit or a mid-event service. Pick a deluxe unit if food is served buffet-style.
How many porta potties do I need for 100 guests?
100 guests need 2 standard units for up to 4 hours. For a 5–8 hour event, add 1 unit (3 total). If alcohol is served, add 1 more. One caller planned 1 unit for 100 guests — that unit would hit its rated use count in under 3 hours.
How many porta potties does a 2,000-person festival need?
A 2,000-person festival needs 12 units for 4 hours and 16 units for 6 hours, from the PSAI special-events chart. Make at least 1 accessible, add 2 handwashing stations, and add an overnight service between festival days.
Does a restroom trailer need water and electricity?
Yes. A restroom trailer needs one 110–120V outlet on a 20–30 amp circuit and, for most models, a garden hose. Trailers also need level ground and truck access. Without power and water, choose deluxe flushing units instead.
How many guests does a 2-station restroom trailer serve?
A 2-station restroom trailer serves roughly 150–250 guests for a 4–6 hour event. The trailer's waste tank, around 275–350 gallons, sets the limit. Weddings over 200 guests usually step up to a 3- or 4-station trailer or add a deluxe unit.
Do you rent handwashing stations?
Yes. Our dual hand-wash station has two basins, a hands-free foot pump, a 22-gallon fresh-water tank, soap, and paper towels. The manufacturer rates it at nearly 300 hand washes per fill. It's a common add-on for food events and jobsites.
How many handwashing stations do I need?
Use 1 handwashing station for every 1–10 toilets, 2 for 11–20, 3 for 21–30, and 4 for 31–40. That's the PSAI guideline. Food events and jobsites with paint, herbicide, or other contaminants need them close to the work.
Cleaning and servicing
How often are porta potties cleaned?
Long-term and construction units are serviced once a week. Each visit includes pumping, disinfecting, deodorizing, and restocking. Event units arrive clean and stocked. Multi-day events can add a mid-event service, like a Saturday-night clean between festival days.
What happens during a service visit?
A service visit has 5 steps: pump the waste tank, pressure-rinse and disinfect the interior, scrub the seat and urinal, add fresh deodorizer, and restock toilet paper, sanitizer, soap, and towels. The driver leaves a service log on the door so you can see the date.
Can I add an extra cleaning?
Yes. Extra service visits start at $85. Book them for busy jobsites, multi-day events, or summer heat. For festivals, the most requested slot is overnight between day one and day two, so the units are fresh when gates open.
Will a porta potty smell in Galveston's summer heat?
Heat speeds odor, and Galveston highs average 91–92°F in July and August. Shade, a vent facing the breeze, and twice-weekly service for busy units keep odor down. We add fresh deodorizer at every service and can schedule extra visits during heat waves.
Do you pump out RV and camper holding tanks?
Yes. We pump RV and camper black- and gray-water tanks on site when our truck can park within about 50 feet. Pump-outs start at $175. Same-day pump-outs depend on routes; call (409) 230-8588 to check today's schedule.
Do you pump septic tanks?
No. We pump our own portable units and RV or camper holding tanks only. Residential septic systems need a licensed septic contractor. If your septic is down, we can drop a porta potty the same day so the house stays usable during repairs.
Construction and long-term
How many toilets does OSHA require on a construction site?
OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 Table D-1 requires 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers. For 20 to 199 workers, it's 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers. For 200 or more, it's 1 seat and 1 urinal per 50. That's the legal minimum; we recommend 1 unit per 10 workers with weekly service.
I'm remodeling my house with no water. Do I need a contractor account?
No. Homeowners book the same 28-day construction rate as contractors, with weekly service included. Bathroom remodels, foundation work, and post-storm repairs are common reasons. We place it on your property so the crew never needs your house bathroom.
Do I have to commit to a long contract?
No. The minimum is one 28-day cycle. After that it renews cycle by cycle until you call for pickup. There's no long-term contract, and calling for pickup stops billing at the end of the current cycle.
Can I call for pickup when the job is done?
Yes. Most construction orders are set as "will-call" pickups. When the job wraps, call or text the date and the driver pulls the unit on the next route, usually within 1–2 business days. Billing stops at the end of that cycle.
Can my company get invoices and an account?
Yes. Business renters get emailed invoices and an online customer portal with every order in one place. Tell us your PO or job number when you book and we'll print it on each invoice, so your office can match it to the right job.
Cancellations, weather and damage
Can I cancel my porta potty rental?
Yes. Cancel up to 24 hours before your scheduled delivery for a full refund. Inside 24 hours, the delivery fee may apply because the truck is already routed. Weather happens — call and we'll move your date instead of cancelling.
What happens if a hurricane or tropical storm is coming?
Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. When a storm threatens Galveston, we secure units, pull units from exposed beachfront spots, and reschedule events at no charge. After the storm, we prioritize recovery crews, shelters, and homes without working plumbing.
What if the driver can't deliver when he arrives?
If the spot is blocked by locked gates, parked cars, or flooding, the driver calls you first. If the unit still can't be placed, a trip fee may apply and we reschedule. Clear access and a reachable contact avoid this almost every time.
Who pays if the unit is damaged?
The renter is responsible for damage from misuse, fire, vandalism, moving or tipping the unit, or items flushed that don't belong (diapers, clothing, bottles). Normal wear is on us. We aren't responsible for minor ruts in lawns or driveways from a delivery truck.
Why do I have to e-sign an invoice?
The e-signed invoice confirms your dates, address, placement, and rental terms. You'll get it by text and email; the text usually arrives faster. If the email doesn't show up, check spam for an invoice from our booking system, or sign from the text link.
Emergencies and big jobs
Can you supply restroom trailers and hand-wash stations for an emergency shelter?
Yes. Emergency managers, churches, and shelters can order restroom trailers, porta potties, and hand-wash stations. For a shelter, plan on about 1 toilet per 20 residents and a hand-wash station per cluster. Call — emergency orders are dispatched first.
Can you set up units for a church service or campground event?
Yes. Church events, campgrounds, and outdoor services are common orders. One church caller needed two units — one regular and one wheelchair-accessible — for a Sunday service; we delivered Friday and picked up Monday at no extra cost.
Are you a local company or a national call center?
We're local. Peter Rental Works runs this service from 5013 Avenue I in Galveston. The person who answers (409) 230-8588 schedules your delivery directly with our drivers, so you get real answers about your street, your gate, and your date.
